Past Layouts

Here are the past and current layouts of MEHVE[dot]COM

Version 14 - Swatchdogs and Dietcoke Heads Featuring "Heathers"' Jason Dean and Veronica Sawyer

Version 14

This layout stayed for quite a long while after my computer got all glitchy and I couldn't even UPDATE the site because of it. O_o; People thought I was dead. But anyways, I really loved this layout, despite the crude blending. The speech bubbles had quotes from my favorite black-comedy, "Heathers". If you put the mouse over it, it would change to like "network" and you would click it to lead you to a different part of the site. It was awarded "Best Layout of the Month" by Misty.=D I was originally going to take it down on Mehve.COM's 1st year anniversary, but y'know what, my computer is an idiot. T_T;

Version 13.0 - A Different Array of Stories Featuring Yuu Watase's Works

Version 13

This was probably one of the few layouts I've had so far with the most comments that said "kawaii" or "cute" or "adorable". I'm not used to making cute layouts, so I was pretty proud that I successfully made some random hippie squeal in delight of the heroines of Yuu Watase's shoujo mangas. Of course, it was time to change and I was surprised to find out that the only layout I've had featuring Heathers was on my blog and it was a crappy one. So, I decided, after many tries of changing blends and stuff (I left one behind that was my best blend because it was too large [emo tear]), to make a Heathers layout.

Birth: December 3, 2004 Death: December 28, 2004

Version 12.0 - [Thank you, Shinigami-sama!][Just Call me Takuto and stop that shinigami crap!]

Version 11

This layout was a blend of manga scans from the series Full Moon wo Sagashite featuring one of the shinigamis (gods of death), Takuto - who is my favorite character in the whole series. O_o It was all purple, but eventually I got sick of purple and I wanted a new layout. It also made the side scroll a bit in a viewing of 800x600 at my school's computer. X_x Augh!

Birth: October 20, 2004 Death: December 3, 2004 (my birthday XD)

Version 11.0 - Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold

Version 11

This was the winning layout for Mehve.COM's first layout contest created by Michelle! =D It features the Kill Bill assasins.

Birth: October 1, 2004 Death: October 20, 2004

Version 10.0 - Kaze no Uta [Melody of the Wind]

Version 10

Oh my, this layout was up for A LONG time. O_O Probably because I had a specific date it would not be up because of my first Mehve.COM layout contest. Anyways, it's like Version 9.0, almost exactly like it, except there was animation on the top. Anyways, it featured Inuyasha looking out and there was some pretty blue background. It was quite a light layout and I was starting to get sick of it for a while. =P

Birth: August 5, 2004 Death: October 1, 2004

Version 9.0 - Summer Skies

Version 9

This layout features Inuyasha, Kagome, Shippou, Miroku, and Sango in their manga versions from the series: Inuyasha. This was the FIRST time I ever used Dynamic Drive for the navigation and I LOVED IT. I still use it to this day. I also made it look like tables, only it was DIV layers. =D I released a graphic section with this layout, but had to close it as soon as I opened it because I was having SO MANY ANNOYING THIEVES! I love this layout to death, but I have to give it up some time or later. T_T

Birth: July 16, 2004 Death: August 5, 2004

Version 8.0 - Fire of Suzaku

This layout featured Miaka and Tamahome from the manga series, Fushigi Yuugi. At first I really liked the layout until later on, I found out that the content space was too small and suddenly I was getting all these hostee applications that I need more room for the little box called "The Celestial Warriors" It was rough and Tamahome ended in a weird spot. Thus, I was bored one night, and I chose to create Version 9.0 featuring Inuyasha's group. Simple change, ne?

Birth: July 4, 2004 Death: July 16, 2004

Version 7.0 - Innocence Lost

This layout featured Setsuko and Seita in my first blend ever of Grave of the Fireflies. It compiled of three pictures, only you could see mostly just two images. Anyways, I love this layout to death! It was so milk chocolately xD It was created in PSP8 and coded in Notepad and Dreamweaver MX, the usual...However the reasons why it was taken down was because:

Birth: June 20, 2004 Death: July 4, 2004 (Happy Fourth of July! ^^;)

Version 6.0 - Start-Up Blaze!

This layout features Naota and Haruko from the series FLCL (Furi Kuri, Fooly Cooly). This was a hard layout to do because of all the variations of color, red, orange, yellow, brown, black etc. It was edited in PSP8 and used a lot of PHP includes.

This layout was taken down because

Birth: June 2, 2004 Death: June 20, 2004 (Father's Day!)

Version 5.0 - Mysterious Evergreen

This layout featured a drawing by Yuu Watase from the series Fushigi Yuugi. It features one of the Suzaku Warriors, Tamahome, and his siblings. Very cute image. This was actually my first layout EVER with PSP8. I was actually told on DDG Messageboards, that even though I used quite a lot of brushes, they were amazed that it still look good. ^_^ This was probably one of the longest lasting layouts I've made. (note: this is the first time I've ever used PHP for a layout)

The layout was taken down because:

Birth: April 20, 2004 Death: June 2, 2004

Version 4.0 - A Peek in a Sketchbook

This layout was very simple. I mean simple. I made it first to save bandwith and space for my hostees and myself. Also, I think this was one of my original ones because nobody could use this image. The quick sketches were mine. They are quite old, actually, but I still chose to use them. >.<;; Very simple and light blue. After a while, I got sick of it. (note: This was my first time ever using the slogan of greetings and salutations)

The layout was taken down because:

Birth: March 27, 2004 Death: April 20, 2004 (Remember Columbine >.<)

Version 3.0 - WTF Panda?

Version 3.0

I got the image thanks to the image topic and famous slogan we always say, "WTF Panda?". The image (where it was in color etc.) has gigantic stuffed panda bear driving a car and staring at you. Like it's doing, but you can barely see the steering wheel to the left. >.< I added some brushes and made some hotspots for Sites, Hostees, and Clear. Nice and simple and not crowding. Black, White, and Gray are the main colors which is nice. The effect with the links whenever it hovered was that it would fade to a black background. I really love this layout for it's simplicity. :)

The Layout was taken down because:

Birth: March 13, 2004 Death: March 27, 2004

Version 2.0 - Bittersweet

Version 2.0 is a sweet layout. It features Alice and Kyou from the manga, "Alice 19th". I cut them out from another image and put them on an abstract art made by KTD. The image is easier and spliced and also faster with downloading. Even in it's simplicity, it still is one of my favorites. I changed all the coloring to red and browns, nice deep tones that reminds me of the fall. I made this in Dreamwever MX and used MS Photo Suite to edit it. A big favorite!

This layout was taken down because:

Born: Feb. 18, 2004 Death: March 13, 2004.

Version 1.0 - Far From Heaven

Mehve.Com - Version 1.0

This layout features an image of Kikyou from the series Inuyasha. Behind all the site buttons, you may see her purifying the shikon jewel, but the images are covering it. This is a very purple layout, it has probably all the purples that my graphics program can hold XD. I made this layout from MS Photo Suite, it's not the greatest graphics program, but I don't have Photoshop. *sniff sniff* Anyways, the headers are like blinkies. The sides changed colors and gave a good effect. The brushes I used on the side, are actually not brushes however they may look like it. They are actually the words E, D, A, B, C, F, H, I, J, and M's in Edwardian Script MT font. I made the image smoother and added a few shine marks so it looks even more brighter, however, I really wish I could show the shikon jewel, yet if I wrote all the site links as plain old text, then there wouldn't be enough of space and I forgot the code to tell what the site is about in text ways. Bleh...:P I downloaded two fonts called Redensek to make it techy for the navigations and a nice font that I forgot the name of! O_O They were taken from 1000fonts.com. I also have added random quotes from my favorite forum, merkey.net, as a way to advertise *snickers*, but I also added them because it just shows my own insanity and my online friends. XD The links highlight to a dark purple background and I use a cool format that transforms and slides across the screen...um...it's sort of hard to explain. Also, the scrollbar is sort of 3-D-ish, but mostly is flat. Also it's user friendly, and is close to 800x600 viewing (800x605 to be exact :P) and looks okay in other screen formats. I haven't seen it in Netscape, but if it looks crappy *sigh*, oh well. Also, the layout is bandwith friendly! ^_^ That's really important!
